Fit to a T!

September 12, 2012

Remember that 5K I ran a few weeks ago? Well, Andrew ordered me a shirt for it, but it was big on me. So, I thought I'd fix that! Here's what I did...

1. I tried the shirt on first. I grabbed the sides of the shirt and pinched until I knew how much I wanted to take it in. I made a mental mark of how far it needed to take it in for the sides and the armpits (make sure when you pinch in on the sides you're pinching at your bust-line. You don't want it to be TOO tight up there...)
2. I took it off and laid it as flat as I could on the ground then pinned all the way up the sides up to the point where I wanted the armpit to be.

3. Using my machine, I sewed up the sides at the mental mark I made (about two inches for me) until I reached the armpit. Left my needle in the shirt, lifted my presser foot, and turned the shirt, dropped my presser foot, and sewed the sleeve.

4. Finally, I cut the excess material.

Done! It really is that simple, and now it fits! Try it on some of yours and let me know if it turned out!
