After months of consideration, I have finally decided to close my Etsy shop, but I couldn't close without some kind of tribute to the business that was like my little companion for three years of my life!

I can't really describe to you how looking back on my shop history makes me feel. I feel accomplished, empowered, successful, humbled, and satisfied. I got out of my Etsy shop exactly what I put in, that is, a lot of love and satisfaction from my hard work.

It was a hard decision, choosing whether or not to close up shop. Ultimately, I decided to close because I felt that my shop was taking away more time from my family and from my other interests than I wanted, and I found myself headed down to my sewing room grudgingly when it was time to fill an order. For all these reasons I decided it was time.

I am so grateful for the opportunity that I had to have my own shop for however brief a time it was. Thank you all for your love and support during this period of my life. Maybe someday I'll reopen, but until then, you can find me here on my blog! Thank you all again for your support and to anyone who is thinking of beginning their own little business, I say go for it! You're guaranteed not to make it if you don't try, and you won't regret trying, but you may regret not. Good luck! See you next time!

Black Friday – 2014

Happy Thanksgiving yesterday and happy Black Friday today! This week has been absolutely CRAZY trying to get everything sewn and ready for this weekend. I ended up pulling an all-nighter (which I am still recovering from) in order to accomplish my goals!
Anyway, I’m really excited about what’s available in my shop now! Here’s a preview.

Forgotten pictures and Black Friday!

I was looking through my photos and found some gems from adventures we’ve had that I never mentioned! So, I want to share them today as well as announce the sales happening this Black Friday, Shop Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday!

Then, our trip to my parent’s house in Idaho! My cousin returned home from her LDS mission and was giving her homecoming report so we went to support and welcome her home! Of course we also wanted to see Grandma and Grandpa, too!

Groopdealz gLO party + Shop Re-Brand

This weekend, I got all dressed up, picked up two of my favorite girl-friends, and drove down to Salt Lake for a girl’s night out at the Groopdealz GLO party! I didn’t know what to expect since the last time I had gone to a party like this was… at least four years ago (yikes!) Luckily, whatever expectations I had were not disappointed!

 

We had such a great time dancing the night away and crossing our fingers that we would win the iPhone 6, the Macbook air, or one of the other prizes (no dice). They had really good food, too, but we didn’t partake in any of that. They even had a couple of arial contortionists!

 

I’m so glad that I have friends who appreciate me for my high energy level and will laugh with me!

 

It was a girl’s night out that I’m sure none of us will forget! Thanks for the memories, ladies!

 

P.S. I’ve re-branded my Etsy shop! With the ever-changing trends, I needed to change to something a little more… timeless. This decision has been brewing in my mind for the last few months and I felt that, with the holidays and new exposure I’m hoping to receive from participating in various gift-guides, giveaways, etc. now is the best time. Chelsea-isms + New in shop

I can’t tell you how excited I am about the new item in my shop! I’ve made a couple of these adorable tunics and I love them so much! The oh-so-trendy plaid, the comfortable loose-ness, the warm flannel… What’s not to love? I have to admit, Chelsea has worn hers a couple of outings in a row (okay, more than that if we manage not to get it messy throughout the day).
 
 
Now here are some Chelsea-isms! Can you believe that she’s 2.5? I can’t.

Chelsea has such an upbeat, energetic personality! She is pretty strong-willed and has A LOT of opinions. Sometimes, I’ll admit, I struggle with it, but as a friend recently reminded me, I’m not trying to raise submissive door-mats. Chelsea’s independence and energy are a part of who she is and although it may cause me problems sometimes, they are what will see her through her life and make her strong enough to handle whatever comes her way and smile.
