Being a birth photographer means you get to meet all different kinds of personalities and see how delivery methods differ from each other. I've been in births where I barely spoke a word, afraid to break the silence or the focus of the mother as she brought her new child to life. I've also been in births where moms and dads crack jokes the entire time. This family was definitely the latter!
After finding out that their baby could very possibly break 10 pounds (which he DID) this family decided that their best course of action was a c-section. Miranda, being a first time mom and having expected to have a natural birth, was nervous, but somehow managed to smile and joke with her husband and family members as she waited to head to the operating room. It was a joy for me to see them lighten the tension with that kind of attitude.
One thing I haven't done (yet!) is be able to be present during the c-section. One day... one day...
Such a handsome little guy! And I love coming back the next day probably just about the same amount as the day of!
