Smash Cake Photo Shoot | Barrett's ONE!

I feel like everything I want to say has been said a million times by a million moms everywhere.

"How did he grow up so fast?"

"Time really does fly."

"I blinked and he grew up."

"Where did my baby go?"
"They grow too quick."

It's all true, and there was nothing I could do to stop the time from passing.




But even though it seems to have gone by so fast, this year has been the best yet! I think the first time Barrett met his sisters was indicative of the way things would be for, well, probably forever. (click here to see).

We all love our little Bear Bear. so. much. He is exactly what our family needs with his infectious laugh and endless sunshine. He makes me feel so special, and it takes special people to make other people feel special.

So anyway, I made Barrett this cake to smash up and was originally going to do a brown cake that was shaped like a stump and made with chocolate frosting, but changed my mind at the last minute and did vanilla frosting instead. I like the way it turned out, but I think Barrett prefers chocolate frosting over vanilla because as soon as he noticed the chocolate cupcakes were nearby, he was ALL OVER that! Must be all the chocolate I ate while I was pregnant with him! Haha! He got into it a little more once he discovered that underneath the vanilla frosting was chocolate cake, and when his sisters got in on the cake smash action with him! Everything tastes better when you share, right?
