Family | Alexa's 5-year interview

July 28, 2019

I love making these interview videos every year for the kid's birthdays and seeing the ways they've changed and grown from year to year, although many times I listen to little Alexa and am reminded of the little 3-year-old naming Rollie Pollies and then squishing them (click here to watch that interview).

Family | Alexa's 4-year interview

What's my excuse this time for not getting this posted until half a year AFTER her birthday? *insert shrugging emoji here* Better late than never?

Family | Alexa's 3-year Interview

July 6, 2018

I'm only a year late... Yeah. I could do better. I'm super excited to do Alexa's interview this year, but I don't know how she's gonna top last years interview feat. Bella the Rollie Pollie.

Alexa's 3-year photos

July 26, 2017

Alexa entered her third year with a lot of spunk and a lot of independence! We went to Cherry Hill (a nearby water park) that night for her birthday and she wouldn't even let me hold her hand climbing up the stairs. Where has my little baby gone?!

Monkey's on the bed | Olivia + Ocean

I----------t's photoshoot-on-the-bed season! As soon as it gets chilly outside, I opt for photos on my bed because, to be honest, it's the easiest spot to tidy up in my entire house. Now that Barrett's nursery is finished, I might stray there for a few photos this season, but today, it's the bed and our favorite swimmers ever, Olivia + Ocean who now carries little BOY swimmers!

I cannot TELL you how excited I was when Danielle told me she was opening a line of boy swimmers! The girls practically LIVED in their O+O suits this summer, so I knew that I needed one for Barrett, stat!

The quality of the boy trunks is every bit that of the girl's suits. I'm not worried about it stretching out, fading, or falling apart one bit!

I did make it out of the house to a local rec center to test his new trunks out.

He LOVES the water, which made our little Mommy-Son date truly enjoyable! I loved watching him splash the water all over himself and get adventurous crawling around (he is SO mobile!)

And he's so cute, you'd better believe he got a kiss afterward! ;)

I will forever back Olivia + Ocean 100% because it's a product and a business I really believe in. Not only does it sell modest, reliable, quality swimwear made entirely in the United States, it also donates a portion of its profit to water.org.

And I love this snippet from their About page:

"We believe swim time is a special time for parents to bond with their babies. It definitely has been for us! Our swimwear is meant to celebrate the magical childhood memories made in the water. "

I couldn't agree more. So many of my favorite memories were made in the water and I'm glad to know that we can make these memories in suits that my children can be their energetic little selves in and not have to worry about how long they'll last or they will actually keep my children covered, whether they're swimming in a pool, running through the sprinklers, playing in the sand, or jumping on the bed!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! And don't forget to stop by Olivia + Ocean before you close your browser (if you haven't already. I've linked back to them about, oh, 100 times in this post...)

Alexa's 2nd birthday!

August 5, 2016

**WARNING! This post is PACKED with photos because we basically had 3 birthday parties for this cute little gal!**

She is TWO!!! It kind of feels like she's been there forever, actually. Haha!

We had so much fun on Alexa's birthday! Chelsea decorated while I made our traditional Birthday Waffle Breakfast and I'm the only one who put Strawberries on mine because my children are weird and don't like Strawberries. But they will DEFINITELY eat up that whipped cream and syrup!

We followed up breakfast with a trip to the duck pond. Those ducks must not have had breakfast yet because once we got close in our stroller, they completely SURROUNDED US! I gotta admit... I was a little freaked out. Haha. But then we got used to them and it was fine.

We went to our favorite soda place, then home for a nap, to the swimming pool, then home for dinner and the birthday celebration! You're going to love what I got Alexa for her birthday.

That's right! Sock puppets I made from some of Andrew's old socks! I'm such a cool mom. In my defense, I did make her a birthday dress and we got her a book, too! And hey! She seemed to like them.

Good thing we had a small celebration a week before with Grammy and Grandma Wilson, and my mom came the next day and brought way better presents, too.

she wanted wear every item of clothing given to her!

CLEARLY my enthusiasm is contagious.

Anyway, after opening presents, we had cake! I made this really yummy White Chocolate Raspberry Bundt Cake, which was DELICIOUS and convenient because it didn't require ANY decoration, because I'm not very food-artistic.

We love our little Alexa. She cracks us up on the daily and DOES NOT hold grudges. I am so grateful she is in our family!
