Pillowcase

August 4, 2012
I know. Ugly pillow, right? Well, what if you could turn this into this?

Well you can! Here's how...

1. Measure your pillow with a measuring tape (My pillow was 20x18").
2. Cut out your fabric with an extra inch on each side for a half inch seam allowance (21x19"). Make sure you cut out a front piece and a back piece.

3. Zig-zag stitch the bottom of each fabric piece to prevent fray-adge (don't worry about the sides yet).

4. Pin the two pieces of fabric, right sides together, but leave the bottom unpinned.

5. Zig-zag stitch around the three pinned edges of the pillowcase to avoid fraying.

6. Now stitch around the three edges with a half inch s.a. Make sure the bottom is left un-sewn!
7. Now it's time for the invisible zipper! I used this link to figure it out. http://sewing.wonderhowto.com/how-to/sew-three-different-zipper-applications-379896/
8. Insert pillow.

Iron (if you haven't already), and zippy, zippy, voila! Your new pillowcase is done!
