Hey! It's been a bit since I've done a how-to, or advice post, but I think this is a common problem facing our society today and I just can't remain silent ANY LONGER!
That's right! I'm talking about convincing the loved one in your life to go along with the idea of taking family pictures. For the first few years, it was like pulling teeth to get my unwilling husband to go out and take family pictures, but I'm happy to say that what started out as pulling out wisdom teeth and molars had turned into pulling wiggly baby teeth.
Anyway, I asked some of my instagram and facebook followers to give me some ideas on how they get their unwilling loved-ones to go along with the idea and had some great feedback that I thought would be helpful for the rest of the world! But these kinds of situations are delicate, and must be handled with the utmost amount of care, so I decided to show you how these phrases should be delivered for maximum effectiveness, in a vlog! So please, follow along with and practice these phrases during the day before you give them a shot. Good luck, my fellow teeth-pullers!
1) "It will make me SO happy!"
2) "I'll give you a cookie."
3) "I promise, we won't do any family pictures again for at least two years!"
4) "I'm gonna tell your mom."
5) "You remember that one time? Yeah? I'll tell everyone."
6) "It really isn't going to be that big of a deal. Just imagine we're going on a walk in nice clothes!"
7) You can wear whatever you want! *within reason
8) "I promise I'll only use clothes that we already have in our closets."
9) "Our children aren't going to be this little and cute forever, ya know. And what if I get hit by a car one day and have amnesia? How would you feel then?"
10) "Remember how I carried each of our babies for 9 months, each? They're growing up, and I'm going to miss these moments!" *then cry
11) "I mean, look how cute our children are! We have to document this!"
12) "This body isn't going to last forever, ya know."
13) "For posterity's sake!"
14) "I got a great deal!"
15) "This photographer is great and has promised to make this as comfortable with the least amount of awkwardness possible."
16) "We can go someplace really cool that we've never been to before!"
17) "I told you we were going to take pictures two weeks ago and you said it was fine."
18) "Hey honey! Guess what? I called a photographer and we're taking pictures!"
