Fresh 48 | Fox Family Session

April 12, 2018

This shoot may be my favorite shoot to date. Spending time with these families, whether during the birth or shortly after, you get to immerse yourself for however many hours in the pure joy and feeling of new beginning. Maybe that's why I love birth photography so much. It's a fresh start. A new beginning. A perfect baby.

I love all parts of a birth session, BUT... I always feel really lucky if I get to come back when the older siblings meet the new baby! When my girls met their baby brother for the first time will forever be one of my favorite moments of my life. I'll never forget how I told my little 1-year-old, Alexa, not to touch his face because it was a little bruised (pushed the poor little guy out so quick he bruised his face on my tailbone!) but, of course, she has to make sure all of his physical features are there, so... "Nooooooose." :')

The Fox family's first meeting with their new baby sister felt the same way. There's a sense of wonderment in the children when they're meeting that baby for the first time, and you could certainly feel it with these sisters.

I am so grateful for the opportunity I have to bask in the glow of these precious and perfect moments with these families. I cannot imagine any other job out there that's more fulfilling than this one.

Thank you for giving me the gift of being your photographer, Whitney Fox family!
