BLOGGER PARTY AT FRANCESCA'S

November 11, 2013
First I have to say that the past couple of weeks have been cray cray. For reals. With the new season and Christmas coming, I have been lucky enough (and blessed enough) to receive more orders than I have before and I'm learning how to manage my time a little better to get it all in because I love getting orders and making things for people. It just makes me happy.
With that being said, maybe you'll all understand why this post is about a week late and forgive me. Better late than never, right?
On Tuesday night, October 29th, I hopped aboard a train and headed south to Provo for my very first blogger party. I can tell you right now that I was SO nervous! I wasn't sure what clothes to wear, how to style my hair, what if no one liked me? What if I said the wrong thing? What if I was awkward? It really was a flashback to high school, friends. I finally decided to go with comfortable fashion and was glad I hadn't decided to go with the dress and heels idea.
So, first of all, Francesca's is a pretty dang good store. I had never been there before, so it was kind of like walking into Narnia for the first time (but no minotaurs, lions, witches, or centaurs, unfortunately). The accessories were my favorite! They have some great decorative hair accessories, bracelets, necklaces, and a lot of little things for your phone, purse, apartment, whatever.
They also had some great clothes that we were allowed to piece together into outfits. There were three teams. Each team received one sentence that they were tasked to define in an outfit.

All in the details
Casual Luxe
Neutral Ground

My team pieced together an outfit that met the bill. Unfortunately, so did the other teams. I am in LOVE with the jacket, from Casual Luxe, and the leggings and boots from Neutral Ground.

The best part of this night, however, was meeting so many new friends. Even though I was so nervous that I would be dumb or awkward or fidget with the pen in my hands annoyingly while I talked to everyone (which I did. Sorry!), I didn't feel downgraded by any of these women. They talked with me, laughed with me, even shared some personal stories with me. It occurred to me that although we learn a lot about a person through their writing, meeting them in-person teaches you so much more.
I can honestly say that every good thing you have heard about these bloggers (there was one man in our midst!) is true. They are fashionable, kind, beautiful individuals with their own style and personality. I am so glad that I didn't allow my nervousness to cancel my 1-and-a-half hour long train ride to Provo, missed train ride home that night, and 5:30 AM train ride in the morning. It was all worth it. My only regret is that we don't all live closer!

Be sure to stop by these lovely lady's blogs to say hi and see what they have to say about style, fashion, and life in general. I'm sure they'd love to hear from you!

  2. You are such a cutie pie. I need you to come be my stylist. I am looking older and older these days, and even though I am older and older these days, I shouldn't have to look older--right? I can be hipster (even if I don't know the proper meaning or grammatical usage of that word) right? So glad you missed the train in Provo where you have family and not NYC … I can tell you from experience it's a little more colorful there. In fact, we should plan a trip and go to NYC little sis … :-)
