Photography | Tara + Zach Engagements

I've been sitting here trying to figure out the best way to tell you about how awful I was back in the day when it came to flirting, but it's just not coming, so I'm just gonna lay it out for you.

I WAS THE WORST!

No, I wasn't awkward or anything like that, I was just SO over-the-top! Half the time, I don't think I even realized I was doing it, but because of my positive, smiley, complimentary attitude, I almost always came off that way.




Because of that, I was genuinely concerned that when I actually had a serious boyfriend I'd have a hard time being loyal. Thankfully, through various experiences with boyfriends before I married Andrew, I learned that the opposite is true and that I am actually a fiercely loyal person. Stalwart Sue, that's what they should call me. Always staying true!

But whatever title I deserve for loyalty and commitment, Tara and Zach deserve it more! Their love story began in High School and remained true over the course of two years despite a pretty strict long-distance relationship. They literally didn't touch for two. years. I've always been impressed by that kind of commitment.

I met Tara just a bit before she sent Zach off on an LDS mission for two years in my 16/17 year old Sunday School class at our church. I've always admired her spunky attitude and independent, hard-working spirit! When Zach came back and Tara told me she wanted me to do their Engagement photos, I was over-the-moon!

Being with them for that hour or so taking pictures was fun, romantic, and relaxed all at the same time, even if Tara was practically freezing to death throughout! Luckily, Zach's arms were enough to keep her warm. ;)
