Sewing | Lounge Pants

September 27, 2017
This isn't really a tutorial because Merrick from Merrick's Art already created a stellar one that you can follow along here. Merrick (and Joanna Gaines) is basically my spirit animal.

I used a nice Hacci knit from Girl Charlee, which I think was the best decision ever because it's basically like a sweater for my legs. Not even kidding. They ran out of the black and white stripe that I used since I bought it probably over a year ago, but I am in LOVE with this mustard, red, and brown striped option!

The extra tip I'd give when making these is that if you don't have a serger (as I'm assuming she used for the pockets), use a lightning stitch around the edges of the pockets about a 1/4 of an inch in from the edge, then trim the excess.

And one other thing, if you don't already have sweat pants or joggers that you like the fit of, don't worry! Grab some leggings and just cut a seam allowance of 4 extra inches around the ankles and calves, then slowly shorten that seam allowance to about 2 inches* when you get up to the thighs and buttox!

*It's better to cut too much (a little extra seam allowance) than too little (too tight). You can always take them in easily later if they're too loose.

And then you can snuggle up with your little cutie and have tickle-fights and stuff, so that's always a win. :)

Thanks for checking in, and I'll see ya next time!

JK. Byeeee!!!
